The historical building at 274 Brannan has seen major transformations and now offers incredible opportunities for our clients. From its beginnings in 1923 as a storage facility for the Southern Pacific Railroad, known as the Hawley Terminal Building, it began the conversion to a telecom switching facility in 1982. Due to the advantageous location, proximate to AT&T’s San Francisco Bay Area fiber network and through old rail line easements, 274 Brannan became known as “The Fiber Depot”. Over the years, 274 Brannan saw significant seismic retrofits (now enhanced to Seismic Zone 4) and mission critical, ME infrastructure renovations and enhancements. In 2015, we began operating our Fortress SF1 San Francisco Data Center to meet the demands of the emerging technologies bringing more critical resilient power, cooling, security, controls and now… Edge and 5G.
